As Mechanical Technical Manager, you will oversee maintenance, testing, and operations of the mechanical facilities supporting ESA test activities. You will lead the mechanical team, ensuring safe, efficient performance and alignment with contracts and budgets. Your role involves coordinating tests, calibrations, and proposals while working closely with ESA and customers. This is a hands-on leadership role that shapes how space hardware is validated and maintained at a premier European test center.

Responsabilità

Manage and plan maintenance and operations in line with technical, financial, and contractual commitments
Lead the mechanical team (permanent and temporary staff) and coordinate tests, maintenance, training, and qualifications
Evaluate facility and team performance to drive safety, efficiency, and overall results
Represent and promote the mechanical test facilities to ESA and customers
Provide technical and financial inputs for proposals aligned with project requirements
Coordinate with maintenance and calibration subcontractors and suppliers for smooth operations
Act as test responsible or support the Test Program Manager on mechanical testing matters

Requisiti fondamentali

University degree or equivalent qualification in mechanical engineering
Several years of relevant experience in mechanical testing of space hardware
Very good knowledge of vibration and acoustic facilities used in mechanical testing of spacecraft components/subsystems/systems
Proven leadership skills with a track record of managing resources and building a motivated mechanical team
Excellent communication skills with a proactive problem-solving approach
Fluent in English (written and spoken)
