In this leadership role, you guide the Mental & Behavioral Health Studio to deliver high‑quality design and project delivery across multiple teams and clients. You will translate firm strategy into studio goals, mentor designers, and maintain strong client relationships to ensure impactful health facilities. You’ll drive interdisciplinary collaboration, oversee project delivery from programming to construction, and champion sustainable design and best practices. This position offers the chance to shape projects that advance patient care and transform healing environments.

Responsabilità
- Oversee projects within the core studio focusing on process, delivery, work environment and documentation
- Guide strategic planning and resource allocation with other studio leaders and marketing
- Partner with Studios to advance firm, sector and office goals
- Lead all design phases from programming to delivery with project teams and clients
- Serve as primary client interface and manage expectations, communications, and consultant coordination
- Monitor staffing, utilization, and growth; adjust as needed
- Evaluate studio efficiency and financial operations across staff and projects
- Act as technical resource to resolve complex design issues and grow staff capabilities
- Provide leadership and motivation for design teams to ensure high-quality documentation and client satisfaction
- Collaborate with Office Directors to align with firm priorities and initiatives
- Incorporate Design Measures and sustainable solutions into client outcomes
- Operate with a ONE Firm mindset, reducing sector/operational fragmentation
- Integrate HKS services and best practices across projects for client and community benefit
- Demonstrate persuasion and negotiation on critical issues
Requisiti fondamentali
- Accredited professional degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or related field; licensure preferred
- Typically 15+ years of experience with leadership success in project work and talent development
- Significant studio experience in mental and behavioral health facility planning and design, including private/public civil and forensic facilities and maximum security
- Sustainable design accreditation preferred
- Familiarity with design-related software and Vision; MS Office, Microsoft Project, Teams preferred
- Proven track record leading design teams from BD to strategy and concept development
- Strong client relationship development and presentation skills
- Excellent leadership, organizational, communication and relationship management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects, collaborate cross-functionally, and meet deadlines
- Travel willingness
