As a Senior Mechanical Engineer Design, you drive technical excellence in multidisciplinary teams, delivering robust system-level designs that meet functionality, lifecycle, safety, manufacturability and cost goals. You guide fellow engineers, collaborate with structural, manufacturing and supplier teams, and ensure first-time-right integration of components and assemblies. Responsabilità

Oversee complete work packages and provide technical direction within your scope
Independently design steel structures, components and mechanisms
Develop system designs focusing on functionality, lifecycle and integration
Perform structural, hand and basic FEM calculations to support decisions
Prepare engineering estimates for technical decision-making
Ensure manufacturability, cost, materials, production and assembly considerations
Produce, review and modify design and manufacturing drawings
Collaborate with procurement, suppliers and other disciplines on specifications
Contribute to optimisation and innovation of existing designs
Coach and guide junior engineers and subcontractors
Support commissioning, testing and technical issue resolution
Transfer designs for validation and joint optimisation
Maintain knowledge of at least one product group
Contribute to standards, work instructions and technical improvements
Liaise with structural engineers on validation and optimisation
Ensure seamless integration within the overall system and environment
Develop alternative solutions for manufacturing or assembly challenges

Requisiti fondamentali

5+ years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer in offshore, maritime, or heavy steel construction
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
Passion for complex mechanical systems and design
Ability to prioritise effectively in a technically challenging environment
Experience with AutoCAD and Inventor (advantage)
EU passport/valid work permit for The Netherlands
Good command of English (verbal and written)
