As a Mechanical Engineer in ABB’s Motion Service Division, you will optimize mechanical processes and tooling for MV production lines, ensuring productivity, quality, safety and cost efficiency. You’ll design components with CAD tools and support run-inx and start-up activities, collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve cycle times and process performance. Your work shapes refurbishment, tooling definition, and new process technologies to uplift uptime and efficiency. This role offers hands-on impact in a global, hybrid environment with continuous improvement at its core.

Responsabilità
- Design mechanical parts and components using CAD tools (AutoCAD, Inventor)
- Perform mechanical calculations and support FEM analysis as a plus
- Support and optimize mechanical activities on MV production lines (stamping, punching, packaging)
- Issue and update work cycles, production documentation, and technical instructions
- Define and validate workshop tooling and equipment for refurbishment of older machines
- Evaluate new mechanical process technologies to improve quality, productivity, and cost
- Provide technical support during process and equipment start-ups, including training for maintenance and production teams
- Lead or participate in continuous improvement initiatives using Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and problem-solving methodologies
- Collaborate with Quality, Production, R&D, and Maintenance to maintain open communication and proactive attitude
Requisiti fondamentali
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline
- Strong knowledge of mechanical design and calculation with AutoCAD, Inventor; FEM analysis is a strong plus
- Experience in production engineering, preferably in mechanical or electromechanical industrial environments
- Experience with workshop activities, tooling definition, and mechanical repair processes
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement methodologies is a plus
- Familiarity with SAP is an asset
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Proactive, solution-oriented mindset in a structured industrial environment
- Good command of English (spoken and written)
