As a Network Engineer, you design, implement, and maintain complex data center networks with a focus on Cisco Nexus and VSS technologies. You will work within Cognizant’s CIS Practice to deliver high-availability, secure infrastructure that aligns with client needs. Expect hands-on problem solving for performance, scalability, and security across LAN, WAN, and data center environments. This role combines engineering execution with collaboration across IT teams to drive reliable, modern network solutions. Responsabilità

Design, implement, and maintain complex network infrastructures (LAN/WAN/data center)
Specialize in Cisco Nexus 6000/7000/9000 and Cisco VSS technologies
Document topologies and configurations to meet performance and security standards
Diagnose and resolve advanced network issues and optimize performance
Implement network security controls (ACLs, firewalls, IDS/IPS) and monitor threats
Collaborate with server, storage, and application teams to satisfy business needs
Lead or participate in network projects, changes, and upgrades
Stay current with network technologies and pursue continuous improvement

Requisiti fondamentali

Extensive hands-on network engineering experience with Cisco technologies
Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS
Experience with IOS and NX-OS
Familiarity with network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, PRTG)
Understanding of network security principles
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
Expertise in Cisco VSS, vPC, and VDCs
Nexus NX-OS devices integration and upgrade services
Data center technologies refresh
F5 load balancers configuration and operations
Cisco Wireless technologies configurations and support
DMVPN setup, support & configurations
Cisco certifications (CCNP or CCIE) highly desirable
