As Divisional Director of Engineering, you will lead engineering across 13 hotels in Southern Europe & UK, aligning maintenance and capital projects with Belmond’s luxury standards. You drive safety, efficiency, and guest satisfaction, shaping how heritage properties and modern systems perform at the highest level. You will partner with Design & Construction to deliver on budgets, timelines, and commissioning, while guiding hotel-level engineering leaders. This role offers strategic impact across renovations, sustainability, and operational excellence.

Responsabilità

Lead engineering for major renovations, new developments, and CapEx projects from concept to completion
Coordinate with Design & Construction to meet specifications, budgets, and timelines; oversee commissioning for long-term maintainability
Provide expert leadership to hotel Directors of Engineering and their teams to foster safety and proactive maintenance
Conduct property visits and audits to ensure performance and regulatory compliance with Belmond standards
Develop and manage divisional CapEx and OpEx budgets; monitor spending and identify cost savings
Manage energy consumption initiatives and integrate sustainable technologies to cut costs and environmental impact
Establish vendor relationships; negotiate contracts for services and equipment
Ensure consistent adherence to engineering policies and best practices across the division
Coordinate with external contractors for preventative and corrective maintenance and related works
Support engineering aspects during renovations/CapEx lifecycle; coach and develop the engineering & maintenance team
Be flexible for operational needs, including weekends, holidays, and intensive travel

Requisiti fondamentali

Min 10 years in a similar role
Bachelor in Electrical/Mechanical/Civil Engineering or related field; Master’s preferred
Proven track record in large-scale new construction and renovation projects
Extensive knowledge of hotel-engineering installations (electric, heating, cooling, plumbing, HVAC, lifts)
Strong knowledge of fire protection, fire detection, and communications systems; regulatory compliance
Knowledge of energy efficiency technologies and standards
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership abilities
Experience in luxury hotel operations and sustainable practices (LEED/BREEAM/EarthCheck)
Fluency in English
