PostDoc, Research Assistant on Applied Statistics for composite indicators CALL REFERENCE NO.: IPSC/G.3/44 Status: open, deadline on 18 Jul 2011 at 23:59:59 CET Short description of activity:   Composite indicators and rankings have the potential to allow European countries to evaluate and compare their performance and monitor their progress towards established EU objectives. Hence, the general setting is the measurement of multidimensional latent phenomena.   The successful candidate will required to be research assistant in projects related to the analysis and preliminary handling of large databases and to the construction and assessment of composite indicators in various domains (e.g. environment, education, innovation).   In particular the job implies: • Analysis and preliminary treatment of qualitative and quantitative data (missing data, outlier detection and treatment, normalization) • Multivariate analysis (e.g. Principal component, Factor and cluster analysis, etc), econometric analysis. • Carrying out numerical experiments on benchmark case studies and testing their robustness using sensitivity and uncertainty analysis. • Presenting results to technical and non technical audience. • Writing reports and notes.  Required profile:   The ideal candidate has a ...
