Role Summary/Purpose The Airfoils Lead Engineer is responsible for all design activities pertaining to gas path part codes, including 2D/3D modelling, thermal/structural FEM, failure analyses (HCF & LCF initiation and crack propagation), detail mechanical design analysis and drafting. Essential Responsibilities The Gas Turbine Airfoils Lead Engineer will: Work, as the assigned component(s) owner, both in the development of new products, from Preliminary Design to final Validation Tests, and in product support activities of already designed parts, with deep knowledge of the applicable design practices and international regulations and exposure to Manufacturing, Sourcing and Field issues; Work in close contact with the Supply Chain, supporting deviation requests resolution and Suppliers qualifications, ensuring that the proper level of quality is met; Participate to flange-to-flange turbine cost out activities aimed at simplifying machine/forging/casting processes, and/or replace expensive with cheaper materials; Present his/her or the assigned project team’s accomplishments in technical reviews and periodically reports out the progresses of the assigned projects to the higher management; Act within a global team, to provide technical leadership to personnel supporting the assign ...
