Under the overall supervision of the Principal Officer, FOE, and under the direct supervision of the EU FAO FLEGT Programme Manager, theincumbent will coordinate the implementation of programme activities in support of Forest Law Enforcement, Governance and Trade (FLEGT) inAfrica (www.fao.org/foresry/eu-fao-flegt). In particular, the incumbent will: communicate and liaise with field partners (including FAO Representatives, European Union Delegations, Heads of Forestry) in Africa toascertain client demand for FLEGT related technical assistance and project support; conduct FLEGT awareness raising activities and facilitate experience sharing between stakeholders in programme countries as required; build partnerships and work with regional and national institutions to coordinate and strengthen implementation of FLEGT related projects andprogrammes in eligible countries; manage FLEGT related calls for proposals including the supervision of advertising, screening and evaluation of proposals; support development of direct assistance projects based on client demand in countries; monitor, provide technical support, and appraise all projects developed and funded in the African region; provide timely updates on project activities and provide information required for the ...
