Under the overall guidance of the Director, ESS and in coordination with the team leader of the Capacity Development and GlobalStrategy Team, ESS, the incumbent will ensure the overall technical coordination of the Action Plan to implement the GlobalStrategy to improve Agricultural and Rural Statistics (Global Strategy) at the global level, and in cooperation with regions. He/shewill ensure that ESS fulfils its responsibilities as Participating Partner tasked with the normative and technical coordination work,establishing standards, providing centralized technical and practical guidance on cross-regional issues. The Global OfficeCoordinator will also serve as Secretary of the Global Steering Committee and the Global Executive Board. In particular, theincumbent will: oversee the management, implementation and monitoring of all activities of the Global Office, including the preparation of anoverall multi-year operational plan for the Action Plan and detailed annual budgeted work plan; oversee the management of funds received from the Administrator and their allocation to activities of the Statistics Division asParticipating Partner; develop an advocacy and communication strategy as well as a resource mobilisation strategy and contribute to itsimplementation, including prep ...
